Richard Phillips' "Arithmetick" text books, 1824.

Holograph books. The large books shows it was written by Richard Phillips, and on one page of the small book we find, "This was written by Mr. John Phillips School teacher of Braiddwood Kelly Devon (signed) Jonathan Squire, Bunker Hill." On another page, "Jonathan Squire His Account Book 1841, Lincoln October the 19." Following this, several blank pages were used by Jonathan Squire as his farm account book. It is of note that artithmetic examples in this book are in British Pound Sterling currency, and customary British weights and measurements were used.
